This site serves to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date resource of published scientific literature relating to the major milk proteins beta-casein A1 and A2 and human health. There are over 80 internationally published and peer reviewed studies that address different aspects of science relating to the the beta-casein variants and casomorphin-7(BCM-7), a bioactive protein fragment preferentially derived from A1 during digestion. The relevant literature spans the areas of type 1 diabetes, heart disease, autism, as well as a range of biological responses that BCM-7 has the potential to elicit on a range of tissues and cells. The literature comprises research that encompass epidemiology, biochemistry, immunology, human and animal studies, pharmacology and genetics.
